Hi Everyone,
In order to make mini-agility equipment, all you need is a little creativity
and Home Depot <G>. For a tunnel, simply buy one of those thick cardboard
tubes used to make concrete poles. They are cheap (around 5$). To make a
teeter-totter, buy a piece of plywood that is about 1' wide and 3' long, 1/2
to 3/4" thick. On one side, glue on some Astroturf to provide footing
(better than carpet, because it can easily be hosed off if pups piddle). On
the other side, glue a section of PVC pipe that is as long as the board is
wide, the whole of the PVC pipe should be about 6". Glue PVC pipe in the
middle. This allows for a gentle going up and down for the teeter, rather
than an abrupt smack. Buy a sewer connector with 3 holes approx. 6"
wide.(looks like something hamster would use in a habit trail) The pups
absolutely love this. If you can, mount a pole on the wall next to the
ex-pen and from this pole, hang rope or jingly toys so the pups can reach up
and tug at. With 3 wide sections of plywood, you can also make a small A
Frame by creating a wide triangle. Good luck with your mini agility course.
