A 12-month puppy I sold has had a reaction to Heartguard (Ivermectin)
recently and is no longer on the drug. He did infact have seizures and the
owner called me as she was truly concerned. I investigated further with
help of a friend's suggestion as to what the cause might be and sure enough,
the first seizure occured about 24 hours after the monthly Heartguard had
been given. I have never used this particular brand, rather I have always
used Interceptor brand heartworm preventive since the monthly-dose medicines
became available.
