Nicotine, in the purified form, is highly poisonous. It is possible that it could cause illness and the usual reaction to nicotine poisoning in toddlers is unexplained seizures. Severe nicotine poisoning symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea as well as several other unpleasant side effects.
