My sister has had Whippets for as long as I can remember, and watching them eat is a
spectator sport. I have never seen dogs that could eat that fast! They have never had
problems with it. I think it may bother us more than it bothers the dogs. My sister
did however try to slow them down by putting rubber balls in the bowls so they could
eat around them. This did slow them down but ultimately led to the demise of one. He
got a ball down and ended up with numerous problems.

In theory, putting items in the bowl is a good idea to slow eating, but the items must
be large enough not to be ingested and soft enough not to break teeth if they are
grabbed.
