I forgot to put the date of the virus definition files, which was November 24th -- That means the time difference between Norton's posting and Robert's posting was about 15 hours. I mention the amount of time simply because these viruses travel very rapidly. (The virus was discovered less then 12 hours before it was "covered" by an Norton update!)
Norton posted a new virus definition file at 15:19 EST (Sorry I don't know the differential to Ireland) which specifically addressed this virus. The information on this virus can be found at: http:[EMAIL PROTECTED] The current definition files can be found at: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/download.html Although the frequency of virus definition updates varies, I just make it standard operating procedure to check daily. This is easy if one places an icon for the virus definition files on your Windows desktop. Now those who use Mac and Linux operating systems probably will need a different procedure. ______________ Gordon Potter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Nashville, TN 37215 USA ========================================================= "Magic Commands": to stop receiving mail for awhile, click here and send the email: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20NOMAIL to start it up gain click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20MAIL E-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] for assistance.
