I have heard this too and I think it is about $$$$$. I take my bitch in on her 5th - 7th day for the progresterone test. We can see where she is then and if it's not even close, I take her back on about the 11th or 12th day. Bitches are are different and some ovulate early, some late. Cavaliers in geeneral are what I consider rather later breeders. I use my regular vet for this but if you have a vet like Julies, hope he NEVER retires!!!!
