Hi, List,
One of our dogs is at the vet after having a seizure. He is stable now
after iv fluid and valium. Although our dogs are confined to a run
outdoors, we noticed that a few of them seemed off color the last couple
of days. I've wondered if they got into something like a bird carcass
that had died and fallen into their pen.
The help I could use now is to know what screens to run (besides a
general tox screen) to rule out all other causes but epilepsy. This dog
got ataxic when given metronidazole a year and a half or more ago. He
has not shown any signs of this since then. Additionally he is possible
that he was hit with a heavy paver which was carelessly left by a
workman on the top of the fence rail and had fallen in.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
