IAnother bad afternoon, Had a visit from a lady wanted to get in the business. Wanted to buy a male and female to breed immediately. Did not know the difference between a King.....
This is just another example of what will continue to happen with the ever sky-rocketing costs of acquiring a Cavalier. The "cat is out of the bag" people will want them and will get them. Many people will not/cannot afford the initial cash outlay for a "good" Cavalier. I hope all responsible breeders are ready to provide documentation on the health of their dogs so there will be an ever widening gap between the "pet breeders" and the responsible breeders. I do believe most people will give the lower priced dogs a try-why not? They can afford them and may get about the same information on health. This will be the new cash cow breed. It will hurt the breed not to mention the individual dogs tremendously. What should be done? How do the parent clubs hope to help? People are only so educable but when it comes to money, we look for a deal. You can say they get what they deserve, but remember we are talking about Cavaliers here. Is this what THEY deserve?
