I don't have a mountain of paperwork because the only results I seem to have
access to are on the OFA database, so I look there. When I ask for
paperwork on dogs not listed there (we are talking in the States now), I
rarely get them for some reason.

As for conclusions--I have come to one. I never realized before how many
breeders attempt to improve polygenic faults by breeding phenotypically
*clear* dogs. No wonder they feel breeding tested *clear* dogs provides so
many *surprises* and therefore *guarantees* so little and is not all that it
is cracked up to be. They are right--breeding phenotypically clear dogs
does provide a lot of surprises and doesn't work all that well. BUT, if you
know quite a bit of the genotype of each dog, there ARE no surprises!

The answer is to fully test everything you can and make the results easily
available to all--then we will be much better able to ascertain the
genotypes of our dogs and REAL improvement will begin.
