That used to be the theory but it has proved not to be true. I have now had 2 dogs that were clear at 7 weeks, clear at just over a year and developed folds by the time of their 3rd examination. They were examined by the same opthalmologist each time and he is well respected in the profession. When I questioned him about this development he showed me some studies that have been done on dogs whose eyes had developed the same as my dogs. Sorry, I haven't got a clue where I put those papers but I will continue to have my dogs' eyes examined yearly.
