Well fortunately for me I have never ever had the occasion to have to have a
dog Xrayed for injury, or possible obstruction and certainly would never
Xray to find out the number of whelps a bitch is expecting - I use my hands
for that.
But to answer your question yes it does involve a day when I include
travelling time - a full day as the vet I use will not release the dog
until it is fully recovered from the GA
Of course the vets can Xray what ever they like when they like - there is no
restrictions . However as the positioning of the dog is important for
submitting films to the BVA I prefer to use a vet who regularly does this.
I am more than aware exactly what the procedure is for taking Xrays - I
worked for many years as an orthopaedic theatre sister and ward sister so
well used also to viewing Xrays
