There is NO immediate promise from any cardiologist, opthamologist or
orthopedic specialist to whom I have spoken that progeny from any animal
they examined will be healthier. Polygenetic disorders don't improve
that way as you know. So far as I am aware there is not even any
promise of long term improvement in terms of eliminating MVD or
RD...even HD from the population.
The "promise" is a *hope* of improvement in the long term. That is what
I meant about breeding selectively for health is for the improvement of
the breed; not for today's buying public.
