WOW!!! I am amazed, no wait make that flabbergasted, at the number of responses
I got to what Cavalier stud owners require of bitches for service!!!!
Four. No, no,... not fourteen,... not forty....four.
Hmmmm, so, either we have A) only four stud dog owners on the list B) some stud
dog owners are not proud of how they conduct their breeding program or C) No one
in the United States read their code of ethics. Here it is just in case y'all
forgot CKCSUSA "Try to educate each owner or interested person, and to be
constructive as well as instructive in my comments." ACKCS "helping novices,
being truthful in representing your own dogs for sale or breeding,"
I'd really love to hear from everyone. If you feel it is a private matter unless
I plan to use your dog, I understand and respect that. How about writing me from
a bogus, anonymous Yahoo email account. I don't want to judge anyone. I am bound
and determined to learn EVERYTHING about this breed even if I have to annoy
everyone into helping me just to get me to shut up LOL.
Here are what the four people said...
Clearances in writing for Brucellosis, eyes and heart, other health information
if available, copy of pedigree, see the bitch or a picture of her. All resulting
progeny sold on limited, spay/neuter except for show pups.
Brucellosis, clearances on heart, eyes done within 1 year, OFA after 2, Patella
statement from vet, strengths and weaknesses of bitch, reason for wanting to use
the stud in question, discuss bitch's show career and dual registered.
OFA or PennHip clearance, patella clearance, ACVO or CERF and cardio clearance <
one year, Brucellosis, dual registered
Full health testing on bitch same as they require for their own stud(s) just
like what is done in Goldens. This person also provided me with a wonderful post
re: observations made with age/level of murmur or clear heart breedings and
resulting progeny trends.
