We require all of the above, plus we require that the bitch be on Baytril at least five days prior to breeding, or we need a hooded culture to be taken with hard copy results to us before the breeding. Additionally, while we are just getting started in a breeding program, and still don't have it firmed up, we also require that we be given first option to buy a second pick puppy from the litter if the breeder isn't keeping it for themselves. In other words, since it's our boy who is the sire, we feel that if second pick pup is being sold, we should have first right of refusal on the puppy. We must see hard copies on health testing before the bitch arrives. In exchange for these things, we provide hard copies of all of our boy's test results, (OFA, heart, patellae and CERF) a pedigree, a large color photo of our boy, information regarding his ancestors going back for several generations....their age if alive, their condition if known, and the age at which they died. We provide hard copies on the heart clearance on the sire and dam of our boy. Additionally, we prefer to have a post dated check written that we hold until puppies arrive. If there are no pups, the check is destroyed and the breeding is considered to be null and void, with no further responsibility on either party's part.
