The reason we request Baytril is because it is the drug of choice for
Mycoplasma. My preference would be a good vet exam prior to the breeding
and a closed hood culture. That way the vet could also do a visual check
for herpes. My girls have taken the Baytril without any side effects, and
we have bitches here who have taken it also uneventfully, but as with any
antibiotic, I am sure that some dogs would react to it. If that was the
case, then we would take the vet's advice on it. You guys all know that we
are fairly new to this, and sort of learning as we go. Just muddling our
way through this whole thing. Trying to protect our boy. He is fully
tested, two in January and has seven year old heart clear parents. And,
yes. There are hard copies that his parents are cardiology cleared. So, we
are torn between wanting to let other people use him because fully tested
boys are rare, and fully tested boys with seven year old heart cleared
parents are even more rare....and wanting to keep him just for our own use
for our own girls. Please don't ever take anything I say as gospel. I feel
like we are open to suggestions and have millions of things to learn. Myra
