I recently had the need to have a caesarean section done on one of the Irish
Setters.I haven't had the need for this for many years. At the time of the
surgery the puppies displayed no sign of  breathing in spite of the efforts
of everyone.The Vet , his team and myself worked  on the puppies for a
considerable time,some a half hour latter were still only gasping
intermittently. I would have long given up myself but was urged on to "keep
rubbing" We managed to get 10 of 11 going and they are thriving.I think the
lesson for me was don't give up just keep rubbing and have Doprin available
