William gave me a Sony DSC-F707 for Christmas. I am learning how to use it. It is 5 megapixels and I bought a 128MB memory stick that I can put in a special floppy disk adapter to load the photos into my computer. I could have used a USB cable, but both of my USB slots are used by peripherals. I saw the Sony digital cam when we went in to buy the floppy adapter and thought how nice it would be for taking photos of wiggly puppies, but kept my mouth shut. You don't look a gift horse in the mouth, LOL. Especially when it is a gift from your spouse. Besides, I want to take really good photos of family and I'll use the new camera for that. The Sony Mavica's take good photos for the web, but are not what you would want for taking permanent type photos of family.
So far, I am really pleased with the new camera. It takes photos much faster than the Mavica and there is a big difference in photo quality. However, the Mavica was excellent for webphotos. If I were just wanting to take a few photos to share over the web with friends, I'd get another of the Mavica's from Sony. They are so easy to use and have a lot of features, the best of which is the floppy disk downloading. (that's why I bought an adapter for the new camera so I could use the floppy drive for downloading) I've had cameras that used cables to download and they all seemed to have compatibility problems with my computer-- especially the MAC.
