No, Pam, although they all have a delay when recording a photo--- but not
when taking the photo. The Mavica would get the shot that I was clicking
for, but not the pose that happened 2 seconds afterward as there is a 5
second recording time with the Mavica F81. The new camera will get the
original snap AND the one 2 seconds later. If I were you, I'd read the
manual to see if I had inadvertantly set the camera up for a lagtime shot.
If this isn't the answer, go to the store and buy a different camera. I like
the Sony's and they come in all price ranges. I can testify that the Sony
Mavica doesn't have a time delay in taking a photo (just in recording it)
and the Sony Cybershot DSC-F707 (my new one) doesn't have a delay in taking
or recording, but it is pricey so if you are not into lots of photos or you
only want web shots, one of the lower range Sony's will do just as well.
