Hi Marilyn, I like to feed meals twice a day. If biscuits are in place of a meal it is basically the same. I know there is concern about dogs eating commercial dry dog food and getting bloat and torsion-even non-giant breeds. Because dry food expands in the stomach, feeding smaller amounts at a time may be safer. I have a friend who lost a young Aussie and is now very careful with dry food-soaking till completely soaked, no excursus 2 hours before or after etc. I have read studies that say there is no connection between food and bloat, but do we really know for sure? I think feeding in AM or twice a day will help with weight management. By the way, my Cavalier is the only dog I have had that scratches on the pantry door hoping for a dog biscuit.:)
