I have taken off dew claws off of every puppy we've had so far. Not only do they not bleed excessively....they don't bleed at all. The most blood I've ever seen using a clamp is a very small amount that comes up when I remove the clamp. Certainly not enough to even bother wiping off. If someone is having a lot of bleeding on removal of dewclaws, they need to work on their technique. Myra Savant
