Hi,

Here is a link to Esmee's little girl from the litter that I mentioned in
posts during Christmas. It wasn't all smooth sailing. We almost lost her at
about two weeks of age (I should have taken the advise of one list member
and put Emme on antibiotics at birth after the mummy sibling puppy and all
the mess with the pregnancy.).

She developed congestion. We put her on antibiotics at that time. She
stopped nursing and had to be handfed for about a week. Actually, Wm. has
handfed her from then on, but let her nurse if she wanted to. She started
back nursing after about 10 days. Then we were afraid that Esmee's milk had
dried up, but Emme got things flowing again. However, he still handfed her
as well. She started eating from a bowl this week and gets the puppy food
all over herself--- you can see some on her legs in the photos. In fact, she
wants to make up for lost time and tries to eat everything. She had just
stuffed her tummy before the photo session.

Of course, she isn't perfect, but we are very pleased to have saved her
after all the difficulties. The health pedigree and the conformation lines
are very good and she's a cute little button even if she turns out to be a
pet. However, considering the bloodlines behind her and the setbacks from
the difficult pregnancy, she has a shot at coming along and being a nice
one.

You can see her at http://www.angelfire.com/sc3/susanc/esmee.htm

All the best,
Susan Cochran
