is is not uncommon for a judge to ask exhibitors to pick them up so heads can
be assessed against one another. I have seen this (and in fact been requested to
do so) many times. I have even had judges re-table 2 exhibits before making a
final decision.
However, it is MOST unusual for Cavaliers here to be shown with the handlers
kneeling. Of course I have seen it, and yes by some "top" handlers, but nothing
is more pleasing than a free standing Cavalier showing the breeds true
temperament.
