Hi Jeanie, Of course I know you never kneel whle showing the Cavaliers. I was just trying to be funny.LOL! In fact, I saw you showing your Cavaliers at Sydney Royal last year while I was in Australia. I am sure my breeder, Mrs Margaret Franze would SCREAM as well if she is aware of what I have said in the last posting,i.e. it's okay to kneel if you over six feet.
I am about six feet tall and personally show my Cavaliers, free standing most of the time. Getting my Cavaliers to wag the tails and be happy in the ring, whether standing or kneeling is never a problem for me.I just wish to clarify that I did not say one MUST kneel if he/she is over six feet. So, pls don't get over excited. LOL! As far as I know, there is no rules which say that one cannot show the Cavaliers on the ground. (Please correct me if I am wrong as I am still learning everyday) Personally, I feel that as long as one can show the Cavaliers to his/her advantage, one should not be too concern whether the Cavalier is presented with the handler on the ground or standing up. My OZ friend, Tabatha Buckley who is also a top handler in the country once told me that she even carried Hamish up from the ground just to show the head when the judge can't make the final decision between two Cavaliers. Well, once again, it is only my humble opinion. The photo was taken after the judging and I had an argument with the official photographer about kneeling down! He insisted for the photo and almost had a tizzy fit about it! LOL. Needless to say I did NOT handle the dog kneeling! In fact when we came into the ring for Open Dog in the class and lined up, I was almost the only handler who didn't kneel and stack - something that used to happen here a bit. The judge was Robyn Hernandez from Mexico and I think that one of the things that caught his eye about the dog was that apart from putting him on the table, I never touched him on the ground - he was a fantastic showdog, moved like a train and stood himself up four square every time with me about 6 feet back. - did it all himself with wonderful ring presence.
