Hello I had a litter of four last year sired by an outside stud dog, one of the puppies was considerably paler than her littermates, whilst on the phone to the owner of the stud dog telling her that the puppies had arrived safely she asked me if one of the puppies was paler than the others. I told her that Yes one of them was, she then told me that the father had also been the palest in his litter too yet he is lovely and rich now and has done very well in the ring, my little girl is now every bit as rich as her brother and two sisters!
As for the eye rim theory I recall reading that one in Sheila Smiths book, and that along with the ear leather theory is pretty accurate!!
