This thread jogged my memory regarding something I'd read in Pat Hasting's book 
(Tricks of the Trade: From Best Intentions to Best In Show). Pat wrote: "If there 
appears to be a problem with the alignment of the (puppy's) canines, talk to a dental 
vet about interceptive orthodontics- a perfectly legal option, when dealing with puppy 
teeth. According to one report, interceptive orthodontics is effective in 50 percent 
of all cases."
