A reverse sneeze is due to an elongated soft palate that temporarily partially obstructs the airway. It will generally get better if the dog swallows (sort of like swallowing to equalize the air pressure on either side of the eardrum when flying on a plane.). I know people that give them honey or something to make them swallow, but mine never have episodes lasting more than a few seconds, so I usually don't intervene. Leanne
