I really appreciate the responses I got regarding missing teeth. I know it is very common in most breeds, so I am not surprised to hear of it in Cavaliers. However I had never heard of missing incisors-that's a new one for me. I have read some interesting articles on Toys and teeth. One thing I read was the toy teeth have not reduced in size in proportion to the dog. Usually the teeth are too big, although small, too big for the size mouth they go in, resulting in fewer teeth, crooked teeth etc.
Thanks also for describing weak teeth. I am sure most "long timers" in the breed just know what it means. It isn't very clear if it is unfamiliar territory. Laura, thanks for such an informative post. It sounds like you keep good records of what is happening with your dogs.
