I just answered my own question by looking at the UK website. No...there
are no other requirements to becoming a member of the club over there than
being proposed by 2 non related members, adhearing to their code of ethics
and then being voted upon at a board meeting.

Why does this always have to be one club against the other club
discussion? Most people today dual register their dogs, so I can't believe
that the gene pool is that small. This gives people 2 different venues in
which to participate. Some people like the smaller, but closer AKC shows
and others prefer to go away on a mini vacation every few months....it is
nice to have a choice. Yes, in hindsight, perhaps things would have been
better served if done differently...but that is the past and nothing can be
done to change that now, we can only move forward. The CKCSC club is
working on addressing the acceptance of AKC only dogs and that will be put
to the membership soon and hopefully there will be some positive changes.

Why is it not in the best interest of the breed to have choices?

Kindest regards,
Kim
