Chris, My veterinary cardiologist at Purdue University Vet School agrees with that report. My vet put one of my dogs on Enalapril for her grade 1V murmur. I took her to Purdue for her annual cardiac workup by Dr. Dan Hogan. After completing the Doppler, Chest X-ray, etc. it was determined she was not in heart failure. He told me that I was wasting my money. He believes that the only time Enalapril is effective is when the dog is in heart failure. He said that it does nothing to delay the onset.
