Hi Myra and others, I'm sorry, but I have to agree somewhat with what Kathy has said about having a choice....except I think that you can be proactive if you choose to be. I am not saying that one club is better than the other.
Instead of slamming a club that you belong to publically......why not send a letter into the board expressing your feelings and ask to be put on the agenda at the next upcoming national board meeting to express those feelings? I think that many people get so tired of listening to the same old "go around" by the same handful of people every couple of weeks. If you are unhappy with the club that you belong to, then you have 2 choices. You can either choose to leave as many have, or you can be a catylst, productively, by addressing the people who shape the club. Anyone can attend and speak at a board meeting. The only thing you need to do is to formally write a letter requesting to be put on the agenda. I don't feel that it does any club good, whether it is dogs, rabbits, weavers, etc....(I am using my clubs as examples).....if their club body bashes them in a public forum but does not formally speak to the people that put the many endless hours of time into shaping that club. I'm sorry if that sounds a bit bitchy....but given my private mail as a list owner, that is how a good many of our list feels and these constant go arounds, about how "my club is better than your club" does nothing positive for either club. I am going away this weekend......believe it or not to an AKC show and if the trend of disagreement continues, then I will have no discourse than to shut the list down until I get home, as I will not be around to monitor the list....but will be visiting with some close friends.
