Susan, Kathy is not the only one who enjoys the social life of the old club, which has nothing to do with keeping Myra from breeding to whom ever she wants to, only her own conscience can do that. You are too intelligent to think that it does. You very well know that the club, the Code of Ethics, the By-laws and everything that went into the club was done many years ago, before AKC recognition. When they were written, they did not write them to prevent Myra or anyone else personally from using AKC registered only dogs in their breeding program. The intent then was to use Cavaliers that were within the club bounds so as to keep the breed pure. The part that states "or is eligible for registration with the CKCSC USA" was not put in for a "loop hole" but because when the club was formed the paper work from England took a lot longer through the mail, and it was conceivable that a person could purchase a grown Cavalier from overseas and want to breed him or her before the paper work was completed. I hate being in a position where I feel I have to justify the club, but people have a way of twisting things to suit their own wants and needs. The club was not formed or wrote their rules with the foresight of just being there to aggravate people in the future when the Cavalier was recognized by AKC, and I resent it that so many people act as if it was.
