I do not think it is too close unless Ace is not a good dog. I assume he is of good quality and, to me, daughter to grandson breeding is ideal for retaining type. Other factors need to be considered, however. Are the bitches that were bred to Ace of good quality? Are their significant faults shared by dogs on both sides? Is there considerable soundness on both sides? Are there any significant health concerns?
