They sure are. I just paid $155. yesterday. to get a vag. smear from my girl just to reassure myself that sitting outside the whelping box and whinning at the puppies inside didn't have an underlying cause. (two weeks post delivery)Before anyone says... are you nuts? No, I don't like throwing money away but there had been a series of other things, like a missing placenta which I still didn't see even after a shot of oxytocin, a heavier than usual discharge, a difficult delivery with extra large pups. No elevated temp, no lumps in the teats, no early teeth on the pups, good clean mom, healthy content pups, but still... If only they could talk.
