I am writing to anyone who could help. I am sure there are a lot of you out there who
can do that.

We have two cavaliers and one English setter. We've had problems with the English
Setter since she was two years old. She is now six. We took her to an allergist who
tested her and gave us serum to inject every two weeks and then give her allergy oral
medication every day (which made her sleep, sleep, sleep). We were spending a lot of
money for the serum and meds and couldn't see any improvement in her for over three
years.

No one can figure out what she is allergic to except that when our heat goes on in the
house she scratches until she bleeds. When the heat goes off (our just barely runs),
she immediately stops scratching and is perfect. The vet thought it might be
something outside, but we know it's not. It's the heat factor in the house, and we
live in Minneapolis, so the heat is on about 7-8 months a year.

My question is====can anyone help? We have taken her off of all injections (they
weren't helping anyhow and were very expensive) and taken her off of oral meds (she
wasn't even a dog anymore--just slept all day). What can we do other than move out of
state (can't do that for our one dog).

I will be very grateful for any advice on the subject. And thank you.
