Thanks, Janice,
        This is my concern exactly.  A good suggestion to view the premises;
thank you.  Though whatever precautions they take may be not enough if
their child doesn't understand this completely.  I think it rests a lot
on impressing both child and parents that it could be an accident
waiting to happen.
        I do have the number of their vet who cares for this macaw; so I'm
going also to ask him what he thinks of this arrangement.

SIGH......wish I could worry less.  <G>
