Macaws are parrotts -- very large ones. Because of their size, a properly sized macaw cage will often stand just six inches or so off the floor, and if a curious Cavalier were to stick her nose up to or, heaven forbid, partially through, the bars of the bird's cage the results for the dog could be dire. Not to mention what might happen if the bird were to manage to push its large beak through the bars of the cage and aim for one of those big shiny eyes.
