Brigitte -- I totally agree with your policies regarding refunds.  In this
case, there was NO question that Maggie was suffering from this
condition,(her eyes were hugely bulging out of their sockets) and the local
ophthalmologist was treating her (under the guidance with Dr. Ramsey at Univ.
Michigan).  The breeder took the condition seriously enough that she spayed
the bitch (Maggie's dam).  It was in the best interest of the dog (Maggie)
NOT to be put down.  I just think that in this case the breeder was too
indifferent to the plight of the Maggie's owner.  If it had been a dog I had
bred, I would have refunded at least part of the money -- they did receive
top dollar for Maggie, given the going rate for Goldens in this area.
