Probably most breeders get the generic inquiries. I send a mostly "canned" response, asking them for info, telling them that if I think a Cavalier would be an appropriate pet for their family, I'd be happy to send them more info. I also volunteer to check into any other breeder for them if they locate a puppy elsewhere. When I quote prices, it's always to "approved homes". Most I don't hear back from, some I do. If I don't think a Cavalier would be appropriate, I tell them why and try to suggest other breeds that may be a better match for their situation.

Leaves We receive non-descript E-Mails like this everyday. "Hi, I'm interested in purchasing a puppy. Do you have any and what is the price. Thanks, Kathy " I am sure you all get these inquiries also. How do you respond, or do you? I was following the comments regarding education of buyers. This does take a lot of time as the responses are custom and not caned. However, 100% of those we spend so much time with, and some even come to visit us, are soooooo urgent to 'have' a puppy, they usually comment to us within 1 - 2 weeks later they ". . have aquired their puppy and thanks for all the help!" Only two of them have told us which kennel they purchased from, the rest seem to have forgotten where/who instantly. The two that we were told about just happen to be quality breeders that we know personally--that even we could not get a show dog from! let alone, get a puppy within a week. :-0 Whether or not these two puppies are indeed show quality as they told us, as we have not seen them, when they first inquired, they wanted a Blenheim bitchs for pets. Now both couples are talking about their Tricoloured bitch and B&T bitch that they are going to breed and show, and both think they will have no problem getting a Ruby bitch of show quality also. I recall Mary McHenry's comments, ". . .I can't believe how easy it is to get a Cavalier . . . with no screening!" Ok, I have vented, and now would really appreciate the feedback. Thank you.
