I can second Cathy's recommendation regarding the liquid
dishwasher detergent. Thanks Cathy, I did this with mine the last
time you posted this tip. Some of my crates are more than 20 years
old and they cleaned up like new!

And like someone else posted, my dogs are basicly floor dogs. My
husband got tired of dog hair up his nose a long time ago! <VBG>
The dog's like to rub themselves on the sides of the sofa and I have
to remember to vacuum that whenever I do the carpet. I also
vacuum the dogs beds and crate pads 2 to 3 times a week. That
has helped cut down on the hair in the dryer when I change the
dog's bedding.

The set up I have for my dogs is four 200 size crates, two wide and
two high. A local gentleman makes tops for the various size crates
with a rough finish that many use as portable grooming tables. I had
him make a custom top for me that fits across two crates when they
are placed side by side. The feet on the bottom of the top fits into
the indentions on the crates. I've got several decroative baskets
filled with the dog's day to day items (vitamins, any meds, brushes,
combs, cordless nail grinder, etc.) on the top along with a potted
plant and a piece of dog artwork. This has worked great for me - it
makes it easy to grab a brush or snood when needed and still looks
attractive. I have bungee cords that hold the crate doors open so
that the dogs can come and go.

Take care, Jackie
