My std. poodle, Cha Cha, looks like Aida sitting in the leather recliner. My heart melts and a smile comes on my face when I see her sitting there so regal and content. I don't want to give that up so I guess I am looking for ways to minimize the damage, not really prevent it. Leather is easier to keep clean that fabric but when any of the dogs go into that scatching "nesting" mode it's sure hard on the furniture. The living room is pretty much off limits to the dogs but they pretty much have total freedom in the family room. Now that I am replacing the family room furniture (and furniture is getting SO expensive now) it's hard to just "throw it to the wolves" so to speak. It's a dilemma.
