Here is a little lesson in trusting your gut feeling. I took Baker to the groomer this morning because i had been given a gift certificate. I was very specific about NO TRIMMING except for between his pads. Normally, I groom him myself, but we were (yes WERE) planning to go to 4 days of shows this weekend so i wanted him to look extra handsome.
The whole time he was at the groomer I kept having visions of him getting trimmed, but i kept assuring myself that they were professional groomers, had groomed cavaliers before (they told me this), and that he was in good hands. Well, he looked very nice when i picked him up and smelled good and i was happy. I carried my little guy out to the car and put him in the crate. We decided to stop by my mom's work on the way home to show how pretty he looked. I was sitting at the table with him when my stomach jumped into my throat. THEY TRIMMED HIS PRETTY LITTLE SLIPPERS COMPLETELY OFF!!and some of his belly also. His feet look like a labs feet!!! I am so upset by this and obviously cant show him. The groomers has admitted the mistake . Here are my questions 1) How long will it take to grow the slippers back? 2) Has anyone had this experience and can you tell me how the groomer resolved the mistake? 3) Will i get over this?? I'm completely traumatized!
