Hi Mary You can relax - Baker's slippers will return - It may take a month, or even two, but they will grow back - As we move out of HOT SUMMER (I realize we are just going into summer - but - in a couple of months we will be moving into Fall <g>) and into the cooler Fall temperatures, they may grow better / faster - maybe -
As for the groomer - Perhaps you have an opportunity to develop a much better than average working relationship here - they have learned something - and I bet they never do it to a Cavalier again! Especially not to Your Cavalier(s)! I would definitely expect my $$ back and/or some free grooming in the future - but I'm not sure what else they might offer, reasonably. The damage is not permanent - the hair will grow back - You didn't mention how old your Baker is. If you were ready to campaign him to a rapid championship, or to Special him, you have missed the end of the Spring season, but ... lots of folks take a bit of time off in the hottest of the summer & come back in the fall anyway. I'd bet he will be ready for the Fall shows - I do understand your upset - but - I think this will pass pretty easily -- Or that is my best guess - Joan with Kiss & Kastle Gambler (Bernese Mt Dogs - who do have their feet trimmed <g>) and Justine (Cavalier - who doesn't <g>) Mary McHenry wrote: > Here is a little lesson in trusting your gut feeling. > > I took Baker to the groomer this morning because i had been given a gift > certificate.
