Jennie, The most serious side effect of Rimadyl is liver damage. Many vets routinely check dogs on Rimadyl for liver damage. Taking Rimadyl for a few days is probably all right, but long-term I would be leery of it. Etogesic is an alternative to Rimadyl that has less serious side effects.
