Oh Peggy! In some breeds I am familiar with, not Cavaliers (I am a
'newbie' with Cavaliers), some of the biggest 'back yard breeders' that
are breeding just to meet the pet dog demand are breeders that have been
'in the business' for 12 to 18 years! Some 20 + years! Pump out
those pups, meet that demand, assure health clearances (or say 'my line
doesn't have that problem') to the buyers - most don't know to ask for
documentation - or don't think to - and many pet buyers really don't
care! That is right - if you tell them this pup has this or that
problem, they say that is ok, not problem - because they don't know any
better and have no idea that the simple sounding 'confession' could lead
to major problems later -
The New Breeders I see out there are the ones that have read / listened
/ researched and are trying to set their standards at the top level -
Those that aren't just getting into dog breeding 'for the money', anyway
- Those folks are in for a rude awakening, in my opinion, anyway -
