Well, I have not posted this much in a long time either! I had a 1 1/2 year old Tri have the same thing happen. They were going to go camping and asked the vet for something to protect her from fleas and ticks. They dispensed Advantage and a product called Kiltix by Bayer Labs. It is a spot on containing permethrins. Their vet had told them it was perfectly safe to apply the day after they applied the Advantage. She went down within hours of the application, lethargy at first, then trouble walking then could not walk at all. They took her to the emergency vet and they bathed her to get it off and put her on fluids. She was somewhat better in the morning. She had problems with lethargy and weakness for several days. She never had a seizure though. She slowly got better and is absolutely fine now - but what a scare! They now know not to always listen to their vet! And to follow the recommendation sheet that I gave them when they got her. (Why the vet didn't just dispense Frontline to cover both fleas and ticks, is beyond me. Money is all I can think of.)
