Hello Kelly, I'm new to the list, very inexperienced and probably speaking out of turn here but, never mind, here goes:
It seems a lot of people who believe firmly in only ever using positive reinforcement methods for their dogs prefer slapping humans that behave a bit badly with as much force as they can muster ... never mind thinking through the effects this will have or the end result that they're going to achieve. You're probably totally fed up now with all the emails telling you how bad you are, wish you'd never written to the list, maybe even thinking about unsubscribing quickly before you hear anymore than this. I'm sure that a lot of the comments are well meaning and that a lot of the advice and warnings given here are 100% right and should be taken on board. Of course, it's a lot easy to take advice and learn when it's presented as positive help rather than criticism. The only advice I feel like giving you is to think hard about the facts that can be learnt here and ignore the insults. Everyone here started out knowing absolutely nothing and made a lot of mistakes along the way, even though some people conveniently forget that. I'm sure that learning better and better ways to breed cavaliers can be an immense joy and that, like most things one does in life, you'll get increasing satisfaction by knowing that you're improving at it all the time. Best wishes, Chris Arden Paris, France __________________________________________________________________ Your favorite stores, helpful shopping tools and great gift ideas.
