Interesting post, Kelly - I am definitely a new kid on the block, but ... maybe this list can explain to both of us - Why would this breeder feel the pup is 'too small to be bred'? I've had several ring-side conversations about the fact that MANY dogs here in the USA are being shown when they are 'over standard' - over 18# - I would think a breeder would enjoy having a lovely bitch that was a bit smaller - to try to keep their line 'IN standard' instead of over -
Now, I can see a bigger bitch would have more space for a bigger litter - but -- I'd think staying in standard would be important, too - Any explainations out there?
