Actually, she didn't offer you the puppy.  She said she had a puppy if you
were interested.

When you write a letter of introduction to the list, (which is a *good*
thing!), I would expect you would get lots of emails from breeders.  Then
you could contact them and discuss what they have, their breeding practices,
and tell them about yourself.  I wouldn't be suspicious if you get emails
from breeders you didn't contact.  In actuality, you contacted 600+ people,
many of whom are breeders, by posting to the list!  :o)

Pam is a reputable breeder and a nice person.  I have a Japanese Chin that
she co-bred, and he is wonderful, adorable, happy, healthy, and very typey.
I would not hesitate to recommend her.
