This is true. Here is the explanation for it.

Dogs are carnivores. They have teeth that are long, sharp, and pointed, for
ripping apart tough raw animal flesh. None of their teeth are flat molar
teeth. Their jaws move up and down, not side to side. They drink water
with their tongue. Their tongues are rough and thin. They have sharp claws
for ripping flesh. Their stomach is a round sack that secretes 10 to 20
times as much acid as an herbivore. Their intestines are 3 times as long as
their trunk. Their intestinal design facilitates rapid expulsion of fleshy
matter. Their liver contains enzymes to break down uric acid--at least 10
to 15 times as much uric acid as an herbivore. Their bowels are smooth and
short for quick expulsion of waste matter. Their digestive system has the
capacity to expel large amounts of foreign cholesterol. Their blood, salive
and urine is very acidic to help break down animal flesh.

All this works together to produce a digestive system which is very capable
of handling raw meat without ill effects.

The human digestive system is very different. All our teeth are flat,
especially the back molars. We have the dullest teeth of all primates. Our
jaws move both up and down and side to side. The shape of our face clearly
indicates that humans have no ability to rip out entrails with their mouth.
We drink water by suction. Our tongue is smooth and thick. Our stomach is
round and complex which contains acide that is 10 to 20 times weaker than a
carnivore. Our intestines are at least 12 times as long as our trunk and is
like a sophisticated extractor of nutrients from our food--digestion takes a
long time! Our liver has a low tolerance for uric acid. Our bowel walls
are puckered, convoluted, and full of deep pouches for the reconstitution of
waste matter. Our digestive system has no capacity to expel foreign
cholesterol. Our saliva is alkaline which contains an enzyme specifically
designed to break down starchy carbohydrates. Our blood and urine is
alkaline. Our hand and feet contain individual digits with nails and
opposable thumbs--making it much harder for us to eat raw meat without
*tools*.

Our digestive systems are not made to handle raw meat at all. Raw meat is
therefore quite dangerous to humans because of possible bacterial
contamination. In humans meat can take days to digest whereas in dogs it
only takes a few hours. In actuality it may be that the human digestive
system is not equipped to digest meat at all--cooked or raw--whereas the dog
digestive system is perfectly equipped to eat almost nothing but raw meat.
