When I first got Savannah, she had a "hot spot."  I used Gentocin spray, and
bathed her every other day with a medicated shampoo.  I believe I had to use
a topical ointment, too, before it finally went away.

After it went away, she never had another one.  If you are using something
to prevent fleas, and the dog still has hot spots, I would try switching to
an all natural diet without corn, such as California Natural.
